Eating too little?

#1

Since starting Keto i’m not eating quite as much since food is less appealing since its not delicious chocolate or anything made with bread. I was wondering, is there a necessary amount of fats and protein we -HAVE- to eat daily? I’ve seen you guys go on about macros and all of that, I calculated mine sort of loosely by comparing body fat pictures and giving a slightly higher estimate, since 35% looks like more than I have, while 29% usually looks like too little, so I went with 31. Here’s what it came up with if it matters for my question, I’ve seen lots of talk of ‘fat bombs’ so I thought I should get a definitive answer.

1859 calories
145g fats
20g carbs
119g protein

Protein level is too high. Unfortunately some of the macro calculators are geared for athletes that want more protein.
Your macros with that amount of calorie consumption should be around
20c - 90o - 156f or approx 5/20/75%
The higher fat requirement to get fat adapted can be a challenge for some and that is why you hear about fat bombs. Good way to add fat to the day.
Hope this helps.

I don’t think I eat anywhere close to that much in a day anyway, so that’s not a worry. I used the rule.me calc, and set myself as lightly active since I have a night job with 2-3 hours of lifting things. I also gave myself a 25% calorie deficit since it asked for one.

Also, your post didn’t really answer my question, is it necessary to eat a specific amount every day? Or wikk going without ruin ketosis?

Until you are fat adapted you should set your calculator to maintenance mode so you have not deficit.
You can go into ketosis every night when you sleep because you are not consuming glucose. Ketosis and adaption are different. These may help.
