Eating Out Confusion

(Elizabeth Brignac) #1

Hi! So I have been doing keto for two weeks now, and mostly I’ve been eating at home, but whenever I’ve gone out to eat, I’ve run into tracking trouble. I eat well, but it’s hard to know what’s in various foods. Today, a friend wanted to meet for lunch at an Indian place. I ate healthy food – tandoori chicken, a grilled chicken and vegetable kebab, raita, and salad veggies. Then I realized that I didn’t really know what rubs and spices and all had been used in making the grilled chicken and tandoori chicken. I’m used to dealing with that stuff with calories and even fat, but not with carbs. How do you keep track of that? I don’t know how to count it, but it seems like a weird thing if you can’t eat grilled chicken and vegetables without messing up your eating system. :slightly_smiling_face:

I gained a pound somehow last week. No idea how; I was an angel. Keto is more confusing than it sounded when I started.

Anyway, thanks for any advice you can give and for letting me gripe a little at the end.

We went out for Thai food last weekend. We have a toddler so financially and it’s a pain to eat out with her, we don’t go out that much. I was a bit worried at first. But then of said screw it. I’m gonna get what I believe is keto. Eat it. Enjoy it and move forward. Could there of been hiding carbs or sugars. Yup. But I control everything at home. So in short don’t worry just enjoy.

Yep I agree. If you’re pretty strict or close to it, just do your best when you eat out. I use My Fitness Pal which is pretty extensive but what it doesn’t have I guess mate and keep it pushing.

Your weight naturally fluctuates up and down, sometimes with no relation to how & what you’re eating.
