Dropped the first 10 Pounds!

Hopped on the scales today, and see that I’ve dropped my first 10 pounds - in 9 days. I know that kind of rapid progress isn’t going to continue, but if any newbies need some encouragement, I’m happy to share these results.

I may have gone about starting Keto the wrong way, but it was unintentional. Early in February, my hubby and I decided to do a 5 day water fast together, so we could support each other. We did great. I wasn’t doing it to lose weight, but rather to let my digestive system rest, rebuild my immune system, and cleanse the innards. When I started back to eating, I made the mistake of munching on fruits, and a few carb-y foods. So, with the water fast, I went from 233.8 to 219.4. I started Keto on Feb. 20 at 229.6, and today I am 219.4. Only 69 pounds to go.

The fast seems to have cured me - for the most part- from carb cravings. I keep remembering how I had to fix meals for 4 kids during my fast, and how I didn’t eat or taste those foods while I was fasting. I figure, if I can resist that while I’m fasting, I can resist it while I’m actually eating really satisfying foods. As an LOTR and Hobbit fangirl, my own saying is…If Frodo can take the ring to Mordor, I can do this!!!

I am still very fatigued, so am forcing myself to eat salt throughout the day, take vitamins, and hydrate. Managed to do a couple 2 mile walks this week with one of my kids. Its hard to concentrate and scrape up enough energy to do all that I want to do. I am having an incredible amount of trouble sleeping at night - which probably goes to my lower energy level. Not sure what can be done to remedy this.

Daily food habit is something like this-- I kid you not. (I munch all day long, and loved Pippin’s meal names, so there you go.)
First Breakfast…Keto Coffee (coconut oil, butter, HWC, coffee, a few granules of Truvia and salt.
Second Breakfast…a slice of cheese or turkey sausage
Elevnsies…2-3 eggs from my hens, and 3 brown and serve turkey sausages - all cooked in butter
Lunch…slice of cheese and meat, and a lo-carb veggie like half an avocado.
Tea… Tea, chicken broth, or decaf coffee, cheese crisps, maybe a lettuce wrap with meat/cheese
Dinner/Supper… Some sort of clean meat, and one serving of lo-carb veggie- pref. Brussels Sprouts or steamed broccoli with ample amounts of butter and salt

The vities I take are:
Magnesium Citrate
D3 & K2 (in one capsule)
Iron Complex
Cortico
B12
B complex
Milk thistle
Fish oil
Grapefruit Pectin Fiber
Potassium Gluconate
Iodoral
and Curcumin Phytosome (for my knee)

My macros are pretty close to the 85-15->5 range. Some days I’m not all that hungry, and barely can eat 1000 calories; other days I eat more. All in all, its working well and I am motivated to continue. Thank you for reading! And, if anyone has suggestions on improving sleep patterns, I’d love to know!!!
