I very rarely drink anyway which is why I’m slightly nervous about tonight…luckily I have a good friend who is going to keep an eye out for me. As long as I get to enjoy one drink as a celebration I’ll be happy with that
Drinking tips!
I was a moderate drinker before Keto(I’m only 1.5 months in). Since I’ve been on Keto I’ve only had 2 nights where I had drinks.
My experience is that, yes, alcohol does hit a little faster and the “buzz” is way different to me than before. Drinking is not as much fun as before and that is just fine.
My tip(and this is what I did the my second night out) is to have the bartender pour you a fixed amount of alcohol for your first drink, maybe a shot or two with ice, soda and lime. Sip this drink slowly.
Then, as the glass lowers to half have the bartender just top you off with ice and soda. When it gets to half again, top off again with ice and soda. repeat. This way you will you get the initial punch from the strongish drink, but as the night goes on you are weening off the alcohol and hydrating at the same time. You colleagues will always see a mostly full glass and hopefully won’t harass you into having another and another.
