So I’m 5’2" and that would put me under 1000 calories a day. That just managed to slow my metabolism down when I ate that few calories a day and messed with my thyroid. And how do you “readjust macros” when you lose weight if the formula is based on IBW, not actual weight??? According to the formula, it wouldn’t change.

I think many of us get lost in the weeds when we focus too keenly on grams of protein and fats. We are all individuals and react differently. Further, we sometimes have to make changes along the way–changing our patterns regarding what to eat, how much and when. Age, size, and exercise goals can all make a difference.

Personally I think we fret too much about protein. Dr. Benjamin Bikman is shedding new light with his recent research, finding that protein does not increase insulin IF YOU ARE EATING LOW CARB. Here’s a link:
