Don’t buy NOOMA
Well gee, I hate to be obnoxious, but did you bother to read the label before you drank it?
I was curious…ingredients seem moderately yummy to me but I know some people have strong taste preferences for/against stevia.
“ Filtered Water, Organic Coconut Water from Concentrate, Organic Blueberry Flavor, Organic Peach Flavor, Sea Salt, Organic Stevia Leaf Extract .
They call it an “energy drink” because it has a bit of caffeine in it?
Drink coffee with heavy cream for a delicious “pick me up” with less than 1 carb
To be fair, tastes differ. All the stuff people praise for their taste would be clearly awful to me… As I find the vast majority of sweeteners SUPER awful.
It has stevia? I would stay away from it, even if stevia is mixed with 1000 times as much xylitol (my fav sweetener, it’s way tastier than table sugar… I don’t like the taste of sugar but don’t hate it until it’s subtle enough) and used in moderation in something, I feel it and hate it with a burning passion.
Same with monk’s fruit. Awful. Sucralose, never.
Maltitol is better as it’s not even sweet alone. Mixed with something, it’s about 20% as sweet as erythritol to me (that I can handle unless much is used. not tasty but not bad at all, more like meh).
It’s individual.
If people say NOOMA is good and they have no ties with the product, they probably like it. It happens. I got a keto bar with monk’s fruit from someone who likes it. My SO found it okay. It was the worst tasting thing I ever had (or maybe the worst tasting food? once I had an extremely bitter medicine, I am not sure which were worse… I had to eat and drink a huge amount after both to get rid of the taste).
Had to look it up to see what it is.
Not something I would even bother with tbh. If your energy is flagging you need to look elsewhere in your lifestyle, not just add something like this.
I am same as Allie.
I had to look it up. no idea what it was.
I tell ya tho I bought a few of these speciality drinks thru the years and ALL OF them stink LOL Not something I would ever use either.
My kid bought Hoista organic something drink…took a baby sip, omg this is the worst crap too. how these companies stay in biz is beyond me
buy real food. your money is better spent there.
Actually that’s my attitude too but I don’t even have any money to spend on stuff I don’t need - but others may need this one, who am I to tell and anyway, we all have our useless lil extras except some exceptional ones. A quick search didn’t tell me what this thing could be good for but I live in a different world so didn’t care much about it. If it has some role in someone’s life, I really don’t judge (maybe the part with the extra garbage when the consumption is excessive. extra energy and everything too, it’s complex and hurt the planet, humans are quite awful regarding that).
not judging the use of something someone likes, I am judging the crap in cans these companies are pawning off as ‘good for ya’ and tastes like sludge LOL well, I guess someone likes the taste. Also I think most people’s taste buds are warped, once you go natural real food one’s taste changes also as many of us have learned as we changed eating real food and awakening our real tastes maybe.
I always felt proper food the tastiest and didn’\t understand people who said unhealthy food tastes good, healthy food tastes bad…
But I definitely lost interest in most unhealthy stuff (unhealthy for me, it’s complicated and I rarely say something is unhealthy in general) as I spent more and more time on a pretty good woe It’s useful. If one is raised on a diet, it’s easier to like the wrong things as we are used to them. With some distance it may change.
Of course, it’s partially our own taste so I never could get used to certain items in my childhood (not many, I liked almost everything including vegs most kids didn’t touch but I adored them. but I always disliked most green stuff especially leaves, nothing could change that) and even if I know something is bad for me, I can extremely enjoy it still… But we can change a lot. Even if it’s subtle like I feel the taste of flour now (except in bread. breads taste awesome if they are the “right” kind. not good for me but fulfill my requirements to feel them super delicious) and certain items only in store-bought food are strange now that I normally don’t meet them… But most things tastes very similarly to what they did before. I just lost interest in most cases. Vegs tastes exactly the same (except I am more sensitive to sweetness) but I don’t feel the pull anymore. It’s very odd, feeling the deliciousness and not enjoying it.
It seems many people have it way more stronger. They must be the ones talking about cardboard tasting carbs. I never had anything even remotely like that. I only met airy cellulose breads (it’s the feeling, I am sure they are full with carbs. how they hide it? I used to feel the carb content of food) but they (the normal cheap bread in the stores except the good old times when I was a kid) were always crappy to me, even on high-carb. Well those are truly tasteless and the texture is troublesome too. My forever high-carber SO says so but his bread is extremely far from that stuff since decades too… He wouldn’t have gotten used to something not compatible with him, he just enjoys that homemade food can follow his preferences and personal changes.
I do the same, I make food the way I like and my preferences evolve, I change a bit, my attitude change more and when I meet something very different, even if I tolerated it in my childhood, the differences are striking and it’s just not nearly good enough for me, probably don’t even considered food.
Of course, it’s not always about taste, I didn’t like energy drinks much ever but I used the effect of them. And it was interesting sometimes. Not good but interesting, different. Surely many of us ate things because of that. I liked very meh tasting items for their TEXTURE, I am very sensitive to that…
ohh me too. texture is a biggie with me where if I get a weird texture of my food I am so not eating it but some textures are just so alluring to me also.
luckily for me the few times I ate some junk again from my kid’s stash, with clean new taste buds and my body off the crap and healed now I can instantly taste ‘that ick’…that rancid type oil in the products…horrible mouth feel/taste too where you know you are eating chemicals. Old days I could hound down that stuff and love it, now it honestly tastes like true ICK just from the quality of whatever crap is in it…not good oils, that icky cheap bad oils, not good chemicals, those fake powdery manufactured what the hell is it coating they put on chips to make them ‘taste’ cheesey…I am so happy my taste buds show me the way now
