Does weight loss cause elevated CRP levels?

Hello!
Just reached my goal weight (56kgs) blood sugars are excellent, HDL is low (working on it) but
HS C Reactive Protein came back 4, and the normal values must be under 3.

What could be going wrong here?
I’ve read on some forums to increase the uptake of magnesium, Vitamin C and Vitamin D to lower the CRP while on keto, but would rapid weight loss be the reason for a high CRP?

C-reactive protein is a measure of inflammation in the body. Yes, high insulin stimulates increased inflammation, and low insulin allows the inflammation to heal, but any sickness usually involves some level of inflammation, because the increased heat helps fight off attacking viruses and bacteria. So your CRP score is volatile and could have been elevated for reasons having nothing to do with your insulin level. Perhaps you were fighting off a cold the day the blood was drawn, or perhaps you had an infected cut somewhere. If your other numbers are improving, forget about CRP.

Hi Paul, thanks for the reply!
I was wondering if this was the same case with ‘‘hs - CRP’’ (high sensitive CRP) as well?

Yup. All that “high-sensitivity” means is that the test can detect even lower levels of CRP, and thus milder levels of inflammation.

Thanks for the reply!
Definitely put my mind at ease, still doing anything to lower the crp, might as well milk the opportunity while on keto!
