Does keto work with peritoneal dialysis

Hi, I am new to keto, been going strong for about a week when i got my urine test kit. i was shocked and dismayed to see that my result was only a trace. then it occurred to me that i may not be able to do the keto diet since i am on dialysis.
is there anyone out there who is able to achieve ketosis while on pd dialysis? please help. i’m about to give up the whole thing.

I hope you consulted your kidney doc before you started.

Be sure to check out Dr. Jason Fung, he specializes in kidney ailments and fasting as well as Keto. And tell your doctor about him.

Hey fellas. I’m on PD myself and I’ve done a little research into this. The thing is, PD is a huge source of carbs. I use a combination of CCPD and CAPD each day and overall, my body absorbs roughly 100-120g per day of carbs from PD alone. The only way to make keto work is to prevent your body from replenishing its glycogen stores. So if you can find a way to burn those carbs and prevent additional carbs from entering the liver and storing as glycogen, then you’ll be able to enter ketosis. I’m hoping to give this a shot soon once I deplete my higher carb foods at home.
