Do you ever discourage anyone from going keto?

For me, I recently just go right to the poison - sugar I mean😄

At some point in the talk or conversation, very early goes something like this -

“ I have eliminated sugar from my diet/WOE “

If then, they are really seriously interested
Then yes, I will go forward

If not, from either their reaction, words , shrug off, roll eyes, etc…
THEN, I Don’t want to talk or waste my energy

I will , in a loving way.
Discourage
Subtle sarcasm

“Ok , go by a donut or 6”:rage:
Mountain Dew is on sale.
Enjoy

When I first discovered keto and learnt how harmful my supposed healthy diet was I thought everyone would want to know about it! I was wrong and could hear myself turning into a diet bore! After all doesn’t everyone do things that they know are unhealthy? It’s a matter of degree and awareness.
Now that I have lost 40lb suddenly everyone wants to know how I’ve done it. I don’t push it I just tell them the best sites to learn and tell them it’s pretty strict and maybe not for them! It’s seems that telling people you don’t think they would be up to it us more motivating than telling them it’s easy!

They haven’t found their “why” that will give them the impetus to do it. Mine was the diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes which made changing the way I eat far easier than amputation and blindness (the thing I fear most of all). until they do there’s no way they will change I’m afraid. You have shown them what and how but you can’t give them the “why” that has to come from them.

Excellent answer and I so agree!
It’s really all about the WHY!
