Dietary fat inversely related to body fat?

#1

Just curious. For those of you who have lost a lot of body fat on keto, have you found that your dietary fat needs increase as your body fat decreases?

(Allie) #2

That’s normal I believe. Body needs fuel.

#3

@Shortstuff Did you experience that?

(Duncan Kerridge) #4

I would say yes, I’ve lost 55lbs and have been stable at 190lbs for the last three months. I’m about where I want to be weight wise. I’m hungrier with <20% body fat than I was when I was losing, I eat a lot more but my weight has been pretty static.

#5

So I take it you don’t track calories? Do you find your hunger for dietary fat has increased now that you’ve reached ideal weight?

(Duncan Kerridge) #6

I don’t track any more - I did while I was losing. Yes I would say that my fat hunger has increased.

#7

Good to know.

Does anyone need to track calories on keto? I have been keto four years and never once thought about calories. Maybe it is useful in some situations, I don’t know.

Yes I need to eat more now. I don’t track anymore but did while I was trying to lose bodyfat. It’s essential while you’re trying to lose.
