Diet Barq Root Beer Zero Carbs

(Julie ) #1

Would like thought on if this would be ok, from time to time?

(Sophie) #2

I guess it depends on what’s used to sweeten it.

When I need a sweet treat, nothing like a diet root beer (Barq’s or A&W usually) with a splash of HWC added. Instant root beer float!!

(Brian) #5

Not crazy about aspartame. Lots of bad press on it. You have to decide, though.

(Rachel) #6

Totally gonna try this.

(Rachel) #7

Here’s my experience with diet soda. It tastes good. But, I discovered that my previously-daily diet cokes we’re messing with my insulin. So, for that reason, I had to cut way way back. (Two a week now). I think it’s slowed my progress on keto, but I’ve still made progress. To each his own.

(TJ Borden) #8

HOLY SHIT…Mind blown. That is such an amazing idea.

(Susan) #9

Well it’s certainly delicious and it IS an amazing idea. I can’t claim it as my own though. I’m sure I must have read it somewhere. Hope you like it as much as I do!!

(Jodi) #10

Diet orange with HWC tastes like a dreamsicle.

(Susan) #11

Yes yes yes! Also very delish!

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #12

If the aspartame doesn’t cause your insulin to spike, go for it. Everyone reacts differently to each non-caloric sweetener, so it’s impossible to give general advice. You just need to experiment to find out how your body reacts.

(Sophie) #13

I always liked my sugar-free root beer floats topped off with a scoop of Breyers CarbSmart Vanilla Ice Cream, personally.

(Brian) #14

I have yet to see that one in a store but it would probably tempt me. I haven’t been able to make a keto ice cream with a nice, smooth, creamy texture.

(Sophie) #15

I’ve found it here in WalMart and Publix. Food Lion may carry it but I’m not for sure on that one.

(Jan) #16

Aspartame doesn’t do anything to my bg or insulin…acesulfame Potassium (ace k) DOES spike my insulin!

(cheryl) #17

im getting diet orange on the way home TODAY …cant wait
