Dexascan - How to read

#1

I’ve had several Dexascan’s over the past few years due to Osteopenia. How can I tell from the scan results what my total lean body mass is - so I can figure out how much protein I should have every day? I have the results to look at. Thanks!

There’s a change your printouts are only showing your BMD since you were actually getting them for osteopenia. Are yours showing anything in weights or only T scores?

Usually they are only checking your bones. Asked my Kaiser doc if I could get BMI, and composition. She said no. I have to go elsewhere. My nickel

OP, my bone scan was only of the hip and spine areas, no break downs of fat vs. muscle. Different scan, you need your whole body scanned to get the info you are wanting. My dr. told me the same thing as Kaiser told Karen.
