Folks I have not idea where to post this. Admins suggest a better category.

Was talking with a friend about shad roe and my oldest, who is soon to be a librarian, found this: https://skipthepie.org/finfish-and-shellfish-products/fish-roe-mixed-species-raw/

Scroll down and look at the detailed information. I have not idea how accurate this info is but I am always interested in Omega 3 vs 6 info.

They do label sat fats as bad but the detailed oh my

Also, the sidebar is misinforming. Look who’s study they quote:

Omega-6 fatty acids in sunflower oil and safflower oil may also reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. [Willett WC (September 2007). “The role of dietary n-6 fatty acids in the prevention of cardiovascular disease”. Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine].

Interesting that they call the serving 1 fillet, since roe is individual eggs. They can be found in a natural sack, but mostly you get them from a jar, and they are separate. I wish I lived my a real fishmonger again and could get the sacks of roe, but not in CO, isn’t happening.

And yeah that is almost more detail then my brain can wrap around, LOL.

The Omega 3 vs 6 is awesome tho.

We looked his up because a friend cooked up some shad roe. Shad row comes in a sack that cooks like a fillet. It’s kind of weird I’m told. It is already out of season so next year we agreed to do a dinner with some fine wine.
