Dealing with picky adult eaters

So, I know this is an old post, but has anyone had any success getting over this? I was an exceptionally picky eater as a kid, and on top of that I was/am allergic to a ton of stuff. I have broadened my diet quite a bit in adulthood, which is aided by the fact that in my 30s I have lost some of my sensitivity to the bitterness of certain foods (genetic effect of being a heterozygous ā€œsupper tasterā€). However, I still have a very hard time eating a lot of things because of the texture. Many food cause a gag reflex because of the texture. When I add the foods that I can’t stand the texture of to the things I’m allergic to, my options for healthy foods are very limited. The most problematic allergies for me are fish, eggs, lactose, avocado, coco, many fruits. And yes, I’m not neurotypical, but I do want to eat better.
