My body has yet to receive this message. I guess the power of my snooze function is simply too strong!

I have a slightly different issue. I can sleep in just fine. Unless I have to get up for any reason. It takes me an hour or two to go to sleep. So like… waking up at 5 am needing to pee I’m up for the day because there’s no chance I’m getting back to sleep before my kids get up.
Sucks so much.

see that’s the thing…i have ZERO reason to be awake at any time today LOL

have you taken any steps to resolve the long getting to sleep time? that would drive me bonkers!

I think it’s mostly stress related, I have a special needs child whom I love dearly but every minute of every day is filled with intense worry she will seriously hurt herself or manage to get through all the alarms and locks on the house doors and run away and get kidnapped or killed or other horrible awful things. I don’t dare take sleep aids because she has night terrors and needs to be calmed or I could sleep through the door alarms.
Lol people keep telling me I need to reduce my stress and do things I enjoy and socialize more but crickets start chirping when I suggest they babysit :joy: (and no I’m not complaining about my life. I love my kid, I have a wonderful husband who not only helps as much as he can but he’s also the sole income so I can be there for our kid 100% of the time. But it IS stressful and exhausting.)

i started taking magnesium citrate (tablet not liquid) for stress and inflammation.
it’s the “relaxation mineral” and doesn’t come with any dead to the world, grogginess, or “hangover” silliness

about a year ago i added valerian root and i’m out in minutes…my brain is always spinning so it’s amazing to not have to try to go to sleep

maybe the magnesium would be magical for you

I will definitely try that! Thank you

Not sure if this is an option for you, but when my son was young we switched all of our exterior doors to keyed deadbolts. That way, he at least couldn’t get out if we weren’t right with him. You have to be diligent about keeping your keys on you at all times, but it was one less worry for us, especially at night.

That’s a really good idea, I will have to talk to my hubby about that. Lol I just lose my keys constantly. (I have no idea where they are at this very moment and don’t think I’ve seen them since… maybe Monday)

ooh losing keys made me think about the locks that are controlled by your phone…that might be good too

I can relate, lol, but it was just one of those things. It was important, so I adapted.
It relieved so much stress just knowing he wasn’t going to get out while I was busy with something else. At that time we were right off a busy county road and partially surrounded by corn fields.
Now we still have those type locks, but different situation now with son/house so we don’t always have them locked at all times. I’m not as diligent anymore, but I always know where the spare is.
