Dairy

dairyfree

Hello again! When I started Keto, I went four weeks no dairy and lost 15lbs. I decided to add dairy and have done this for the past 3 weeks. I have not lost a pound but have not gained. I am following weekly plans from dietdoctor.com. Debating if to stick it out with dairy or just stick with non dairy. I made the switch cause I love my burgers with cheese  What would you guys suggest?

I did the same. Started with 4 weeks on Leanne Vogals meal plans, all dairy free. Lost 8.4 pounds. Went to dietdoctors plans and I started to GAIN. I actually put back on almost 5 pounds of what I lost.
Then I started to log everything and discovered I was over eating at aprox 2200 calories a day. people will say you shouldn’t watch calories, and for the most part I agree, but if you can’t tell what satiety is, it is possible to over eat. The Diet Doctor meals are very tasty, and I was eating the entire serving. But I’m on the small end and it was too much food for me. For instance, the pizza is over 1000 calories per serving. And the Tex mex burger plate is close to 1200.

I’ve sense started a mixed meal plan. I’m still doing the Diet Doctor recipies, but I only have it once a day and tone down the portions. The other meal I have I just do my own thing following Keto rules but keep it smaller.

I haven’t been suffering from hunger, so I know this is the right call. Typically I average 1600 calories now, though some days more or less. And I’ve started to lose again. Back down almost the whole amount I started to put back on.

I think I’d give up if someone told me I couldn’t do dairy.:cow::cheese::yum:

I did the same dairy free meal plan. I may just sign up to my fitness pal and start writing everything down. Thanks for the reply!

You ladies are just in the very beginning stages of a ketogenic diet, and I hate to break the news to you, but your weight loss, or the lack of it, may have absolutely nothing to do with whether or not you are eating dairy. Just keep on ketoing on, and things should sort themselves out. Wait until you are fully fat-adapted, and then it is more likely that you’ll be able to discern for sure whether dairy helps or hurts or has absolutely no effect. And do keep us up to date with how you’re doing, because (a) we like to know, and (b) it may help us all help someone else.

That’s what I’m banking on, cuz giving up dairy would make me very unhappy.
