Dairy Free Might just be working for me!

I posted previously about being in a three month stall and had tried everything I could think of including cutting dairy. I’ve recently wondered if maybe the last time I tried cutting dairy, I didn’t do it for long enough (and if I’m being honest, wasn’t strict enough).
I stopped eating all dairy three days ago when I found I’d slowly gone up six lbs from my lowest keto point. I just weighed myself today and am suddenly down four lbs! What?!

I even drank a few glasses of wine last night! I feel like cutting all dairy may be the key for me. The hardest part has been 1. Habit and 2. My morning coffee with hwc
For coffee I now have unsweetened coconut milk and a tsp of butter to make it more satiating. I put it in the magic bullet for some froth. With habit, I have reached for cheese more often than I can count, but it’s getting easier. I’m feeling so optimistic that I might now be breaking free of this crazy stall!

I have 4 T HWC in my 2 c coffee. I drink this throughout the day, 1 oz cheese for lunch, 5 T butter with other meals in cooking. Is this too much? I wonder? Slowing loss?

Hard to say but I used to think I had issues with lactose. My mom, sister and both my kids are intolerant. I cut milk and cheese for a long time but have been eating it again (and loving it lol). I think if you can tolerate it, it’s fine but from what I understand, a good amount of people can’t tolerate it or it causes inflammation. I’ll definitely eat dairy again eventually, likely in smaller amounts and less often. It’s just so yummy!

If your losses are slow it’s certainly worth cutting out (or cutting back) to see what happens.

yup

If I were you I would cut out the cheese and sub it for nutritional yeast, and substitute the cream for unsweetend almond or coconut milk, have even more butter or ghee ,and most importantly make up for those calories with meals or just take advantage and reduce them further!

Just some brief key points that struck me when reading your post:

1. Omega 6 & 3 ratios (1:1?) and leafy green intake in ratios (1:1?) to extra virgin MCT Coconut oil (for those of us that do the coconut oil thing?)

2. Adjusting fat and protein intake for your specific body chemistry and gut flora biome, when it (fats) may have been too high? (why you suddenly dropped weight)

3. Body needs the fat (cholesterol) in the diet to manufacture the hormones (HGH, DHEA) to burn fat.

I dropped dairy two months ago after admitting that my sore tummy after drinking coffee wasn’t the coffee but the HWC. I’ve dropped about 5 lbs but I also started tracking again so that also contributed. More interesting to me was that my PMS disappeared completely. So the dairy was definitely having some impact on my hormones…no idea what though so I’d welcome any theories anyone may have!
