Curious about insulin levels?

Just curious about others insulin results and how long it takes to get it down? Mine was 43 which I thought was very high.

Been Keto for 3 months
Lost 45lbs (310 to 265)
Blood glucose stays around 90s (no meds)
HbA1c was 6.4 when I started, now it 5.4

My fasting insulin was 11.5. I understand below 10 is good below seven is better. After reading Dr Fung book on fasting, I began a more aggressive fasting routine to lower my fasting insulin. I will retake the test on 6 months to see how I’m doing. Insulin resistance is the devil.

Were you doing extended fast? I’ve been doing some 48hr fast as well as OMAD a few times a week.

Hi Tommy, I do IF about 16/8 daily. I recently decided to do 36 hours fasting and try a 3 day fast 2x a month. But this is really recent like this month. So no data yet.For some reason I’m having trouble getting past 42 hours. So wait and see

I’m just getting started (again) with keto and fasting. Hadn’t ever done a fasting insulin test before. This week it turns out mine is 12.7, which, while not catastrophic, certainly explains a lot of my problems getting weight to stay off. HbA1c has gone from 6.0 to 5.7 with my “mostly” ketogenic lifestyle. Looks like I need to step it up.

I have managed to move my “set point” down incrementally with 4 or 5 day fasts, but I did not have any idea about the insulin measurement. Now I have a target that is not just my weight to focus on. Wish I had measured before those first fasts.

I thought after 3 months of Doing Keto mine would be much lower… but, I also have no idea how high it can be? Yours is definitely in a reasonable range. It’s not below 7, but hey at Least it’s not 43.
