I just listened to my first podcast and there was mention of ‘crutch food,’ in particular, HWC. Does anyone have anything to say about this?
Crutch Food?
Don’t let it get to you. “Crutch” is a dirty word, that means something different to everyone. We have to have rules or we can’t win the game. I don’t think meant to make others feel bad, just meant to be used for one’s own structure. Some of us drink bone broth during our fast some have HWC. If we try to get to the “next level” of self control, one might say, dude, I did it this time without the crutch of…
Just remember, you can’t undo the good that you’ve done. You can keep getting better.
I used to just do black coffee and water until I learned about HWC. I drink about 4 Tbsp a day. It’s more like a blankie for me! Lol
When fasting is it better to have some cream or broth and keep going or to break the fast? This is ultimately a personal decision. I choose to sometimes use a crutch and sometimes not. You will know you are regaining your control over food when this 'crutch ’ is not a bad thing but just one more choice about food and health.
Coffee was a crutch for me in that I couldn’t live without it. Like since I was 10 yr old. And lately I had been having some coffee with my heavy whipping cream IfyouknowwhatImean,Vern. I started fasting and it seems I don’t need it anymore. Whut?!?!? I mean I haven’t had it at all in 3 days!!! And NO headache. And no fatigue. This is FM. (Translation: effing magic)
