I read alot of posts regards keto that milk is not allowed as lactose turns to sugar but alot of people use cream in bpc and cooking?
Is cream ok because higher fat??
Cream and milk
I was shocked to see how much sugar is inside milk. The 2% we have in my fridge at work, 13g Carbs; 12g sugar. The heavy cream I brought from home, 0g Carbs, 0g sugar. Now I realize that it’s probably less than 1g carb, and close to zero, and if I use about a cup of it, there’d be some carbs, but not close to what I see in the milk.
Yep, lactose is the sugar and considering the different products in a unit of raw milk, in this WOE it is preferred to stick to the highest fat, the cream.
It does matter how much you use. If you want to chug a big tall glass of ice cold milk, it might not be a good thing for the low carb way of eating. If you want to use a couple of tablespoons in your coffee, it’s not likely to be significant.
If all you want is 2 Tbsp of that same milk in your coffee, it’ll set you back all of 1.5g of carbs. Then again, the same 2Tbsp of heavy whipping cream will only set you back about 0.8 carbs.
Hope that adds a little perspective.
That perspective helps. This would mean half and half would fall in-between the milk and heavy cream I’m guessing.
Nope! Half n half is (usually) more around to 70/30 mark depending on brand, which is complete BS given the name. Even light cream has way more milk than it should, to me that should be the 70/30, but the other way around.
