Findings In this cohort study including 100 patients recently recovered from COVID-19 identified from a COVID-19 test center, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging revealed cardiac involvement in 78 patients (78%) and ongoing myocardial inflammation in 60 patients (60%), which was independent of preexisting conditions, severity and overall course of the acute illness, and the time from the original diagnosis.

That jamanetwork link won’t load completely for me. Same study: https://www.cidrap.umn.edu/news-perspective/2020/07/research-reveals-heart-complications-covid-19-patients
There will no doubt be bigger studies later on, but it’s not really encouraging.
Seventy-eight (of 100) coronavirus patients had abnormal CMR findings, including 73 with raised myocardial native T1, 60 with raised myocardial native T2, 32 with myocardial late gadolinium enhancement, and 22 with pericardial enhancement, all signs of heart damage.
Shoot…It appears that’s an overstatement. They’ve retracted it, and I don’t know exactly what the real number is.
Sorry about that.
The serious heart failure symptoms of covid myocarditis are Iike delayed muscle onset soreness with blood clots. My symptoms didn’t show up until later but I do wonder if I may be dealing with chronic myocarditis because my heart inflammation symptoms are up and down.
