First up, I have a caffeine addiction without liking tea or coffee, have managed to reduce consumption to 2 cans in the morning at work but recently have started feeling ill by 11ish, could this be my body telling me the sweeteners in it are bad & I need to quit?
Have tried green tea but doesn’t really do it for me, do I just need to battle through and quit the coke?
Could diet coke be making me feel sick?
It could be, but it is most likely caffeine withdrawal.
I have had to quit caffeine during the day, but I have a stimulant to help. It’s an insufficient dosage, but that’ll be ramped up eventually. But caffeine is highly addictive and will go wrong if not kept to the normal schedule.
This may pass in a couple weeks.
As far as diet sodas go, I’ve only tried Diet Dr. Pepper. It was nasty and it turned me off any diet soda. I do like sugar free energy drinks though.
I was never hooked on cola but I did love a ton of flavored creamer with my coffee. When I stopped coffee, because I couldn’t drink it black, I switched to Black Tea. It’s the highest caffeine content of the teas. Green is second highest. You might want to try it.
Keep some Advil (Headache medication) handy when you decide to quit the caffeine…
I drink a ton of Diet soda - at least 2 liters a day, and a couple of Monster Ultras to boot. Doesn’t affect me in the least keto-wise.
Grr, I hope not, last time I quit I was the Wicked Bitch of the West! Just have to grit my teeth and push on.
Yeah, I’ve got green tea, it just doesn’t really seem to hit the spot, will keep trying though.

Caffeine withdrawal lasts no more than a couple of weeks. You can either tough it out, or else do what I do: hook a coffee pot up to an intravenous drip!
The sweeteners in the diet pop could be messing with your gut bugs.

I had 3 glasses of diet pepsi last night before bed. Today I have felt really sick and lethargic and dizzy. Could this be caused by the diet Pepsi then?
