Could cheese be the problem

(Jill Lothian) #1

Hi everyone, wondering if cheese is stalling my weight loss eat one meal a day and fast the rest of the time. Have cheese with my meal and not sure if it’s stalling my weight loss only lost 2lbs this week would have thought it might be more with all the fasting?? Will cut it out this week and see but anyone else had this happen?

Thank you

A valid question, though I can tell you that I eat lots of cheese and I still lose weight at about the 2lbs/wk rate with fasting. I’m happy with that as it’s a steady, healthy weight to lose in that timeframe. I know from the podcast that @carl eats a lot of Brie and he’s been doing just fine. Hopefully others will reply with their experience too.

I think you’re being a bit hard on yourself to call a 2lbs loss a stall. Don’t forget too that your body will be healing itself as you fast and sometimes burning fat won’t be its top priority.

You’re doing fine and remember it’s a marathon, not a sprint.

Thanks Rob, I know I suppose it is still a weight loss. Just had hoped for maybe 4lbs. Will carry on.

Thanks

2 pounds is great! And there is such a thing as too much cheese. If you’re concerned, you could not eat it and see how it goes.

2lbs is a good loss.
Ease up on yourself.

One thing that’s helped me put the weight loss into perspective is to take something that weighs a couple of pounds (~1Kg) and actually just hold it in your hands and feel the weight. It certainly reminds me of how much fat my body is actually burning and I don’t get discouraged. I also have a set of dumbbells for training and when I was at 7Kg lost I grabbed the 7Kg dumbbell and I can tell you that I am SO GLAD not to be lugging that weight around any more!

Thanks, that is really good advice.

I do love my cheese once a day, would be really sad to give that up

USomewhat related…

Depending on what type of cheese(s) you consume, try mixing up w different varieties
If not already, go to cheese crumbles ( feta, bleu, Parmesan etc.)

For me, I had to stay away from cream cheese. Sadly.
Pretty much continued to give my digestive issues. Only on rare occasion I’ll eat in small amounts

Just going to the crumbled gives me My cheese fix or satisfaction
I just as well, love cheese :cheese:
