a few months for initial when <50g and then when I went <20g maybe 6 weeks for arthritis pain to minimize. I still get some back and neck pain but it is because I sleep weird. Basic arthritis is gone.
I have bursitis in one hip and sadly keto has not changed that at all.
I personally beleive this to be true, I’m living it myself. Simple n=1 experimentation has led ‘me’ to the conclusion of about 3x the normal USDA. I have searched for documentation of proof, but so far have only found anecdotal evidence like my own. That’s not enough for me to suggest it to others. I do often tell people that the one negative aspect of the keto way of eating* is that the prolonged low insulin state that allows for more fat burning also allows the kidney’s to (relax?) and allows sodium to filter out when it would otherwise be retained. I then go on and explain a bit about keto flu, and false hunger signals or feelings, and nightly muscle cramps, and how a bit more salt takes care of that. Assuming of course it’s an electrolyte imbalance causing it. I personally drink a .5 liter water bottle w/ 1/2 teaspoon of salt dissolved in it at bedtime.
*I so hate using acronym ‘woe’, probably because it took me weeks if seeing it before it pounded its way through my thick skull to understand what it actually meant. Same with OMAD, or IF/EF, i.e.

Andrew Mente, in this lecture, gives references to studies, including his own PURE, that support your conclusion:
Hello. I am on 1 month Keto and yes the more you read, the more conflicting it can be. I joined here when I started Keto.
If you stick around I can assure you that you will get the correct information and good detailed explanations of your questions. It helped me tremendously.
My advice is to always ask questions when you need an answer, and to trust in yourself and your body. We are all in this together
@Azure Yes i agree with you. I took the advise from answers here and ate more with very low carb moderate protein, reasonable veggies and keep eating fat until satiety… i am no longer feeling hungry as frequent. I did put more salt to my food.
The only thing is… i am gaining some weight with 2 days of eating more fat. I think i will just ignore it until my body is fat adapted…fingers crossed!!!
Thanks everyone I’ve learnt so much in this forum and clarified some confusion from diff sources.
