Cold hands and feet?

(Kathrine) #1

Hello

I sometimes have very cold hands and feet and when I eat something I get warm again.
My calorie intake varies from day to day, and I always eat when I’m hungry.
I just don’t understand why I’m cold sometimes.
My TSH, free t3, and t4 have all been checked and they were totally fine.

Hope you guys can help.

It seems like there is a population that gets cold on keto, and another smaller population that gets hot on keto. I don’t think I’ve seen any way to fix it, if indeed there is anything to fix.

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #3

Feeling cold can be a sign of a lowered metabolic rate. Check your protein consumption, and make sure it’s around a gram a day per kilo of lean body mass, and also try eating a bit more fat.

Yeah I’m agreeing with Paul - that’s sometimes a sign of a lowered BMR. What’s your daily calorie intake look like?

I get cold (at night) when fasting. Not normally when just eating normal KETO.

I dislike it for sure… but if I get up and move around, its a lot better than when sedentary.

It varies from 1200-1700, some days I don’t eat much and other days I can eat a lot of food.
But it’s only when I haven’t been eating for a long time.
The weird thing is that my fat intake varies so much.
Sometimes I eat up to 120g of fat and other days I’m very low, like 60-80g of fat.
