Hi everyone! I love coffee, I have it with a splash of pure cream. Seems I’ve read that coffee can cause your insulin to spike, without being able to test this how would I know? I have 2 or 3 a day, not with food, or instead of food.
Thanks!

I don’t know if I believe that coffee causes your insulin to spike. I remember watching something that Dr. Berg did on things you can drink during IF and coffee was one of them even with a little splash of HWC. Now if you are loading it up with cream that might be a different story. As far as I know, drinking black coffee doesn’t cause a spike to insulin.

To add to this coffee does spike your blood epinephrine (adrenaline) levels. Adrenaline has the same effect as glucagon meaning that they stimulate the breakdown of glycogen into glucose.
