Co-worker scheduled for bariatric surgery

#21

@PaulL, I think we agree. I guess if scheduling bariatric surgery doesn’t turn on the light bulb I’m not sure a co-workers concern will. That was my point.

So sad, and so true, alas!

Thanks for reminding me of this.

Food can indeed be addicting. But there is something at least a little different when comparing food to alcohol. When you quit drinking, that means no more alcohol. When you go on the keto diet, it does NOT mean no more food. And it’s not just rabbit food like some diets require.

When it’s possible to eat your fill of good, rich food, it doesn’t feel like you’ve quit eating.

Thank you @justme! I am feeling great! No regrets!

That’s

The other part of it for me is that I’m not addicted to the foods best suited to a ketogenic way of eating—not even bacon, lol! It’s carbohydrate, in various combinations, that I have trouble with. So eating keto feels neutral, because the cravings I get are all carb-related. And as with drinking, the last time that I ate carbs compulsively left me feeling so bad the next day that I certainly don’t want to do that again!

You are approaching this with a kind heart and respect for her independence. That’s the best anyone can do.
