CNN Gets it Wrong Again

(Ethan) #21

They don’t take criticism too well it seems. I haven’t been watching CNN much in about 5 years anyway–just another reason to keep away.

(Carpe salata!) #22

I agree. And I think more people are catching on to the controlled news network.

I haven’t watched “news” (I pronounce it “noise”) in well over a decade.

It is nothing more than gossip, tragedy, political discord, and negativity as far as I can tell. F that noise.

But the AHA got put on the map by Crisco in the 1940’s, when Crisco donated a couple of years’ worth of their profits from “Truth or Consequences” to the organization. In return, the AHA has supported the idea that vegetable oils and margarine are healthy for us ever since. They sold their soul and may have trouble buying it back again.

That’s my point. They had an excuse back then, They’ve known for decades what they did and can’t just turn it around now.

I don’t watch CNN but I think that just about every news outlet at one time or another or even on a regular basis, reports really bad stories about nutrition. My publicly/government paid news does it all the time. It is always based on some ‘expert’ or new book or even a bad piece of ‘research’. It is not ‘fake’ news but rather very bad information coming from one of those ‘sources’. We are a select group of people who have learned to discern what the problems are. Probably the majority of people have not and don’t care to.

I think it is a mistake to dismiss listening to all news because you don’t like the messages they bring. It is better to be critical and learn what seems trustworthy. Kind of going back to the old adage, ‘don’t throw the baby out with the bath water’.

LMAO… Yes, indeed he is. I think Leo did him a favor kicking him off his Twit podcast. Gives John and Adam more time to No Agenda.

I am with “the media”, and I often quote one of their old tags: “It’s Not News, It’s CNN.”

If you notice their VERY slowly changing their story though. LITTLE by LITTLE their taking bits and pieces from our book and again VERY slowly integrating it piece by piece. The ADA and AHA aren’t stupid. They know they can’t do a 180…[/quote]

Incrementalism.

I remember when Eggs went from being good for you, to being a killer, back to being good again.

Reminds me of a scene from a Woody Allen movie “Sleeper”. He wakes up in the future, and when asked by a doctor if he wanted a cigarette, he said no, that its bad for health, the doctor told him they discovered the many health benefits of tobacco. There was something else there about steak too.

I’m actually surprised that smoking isn’t promoted for health reasons. They more people quit, the less tax revenue gleaned from it.

Loved Sleeper. McDonalds was considered health food. :joy:

Have not remembered that movie in a long time. Silly, but sometimes a person needs a little silly.
