Clean Keto

New here but low-carber for over 20 years, keto about 3 months…great results thus far. I’m interested to know how clean your keto woe is. By that I mean do you eat a can of vienna sausages that have great keto macros or do you opt for no processed food and include things like I do. For instance I make foux pancakes from 1 egg, 1T flax meal, 1T chia seeds, 1 T almond flour, and top with homemade ghee, a tad of cinnamin and a pinch of stevia. Its a time sink sometimes, but I just feel its a better woe that getting in the right macros from open and eat foods. Your thoughts and experiences?

I am not someone who does your definition of clean, I have a lot of ag industry back round and I am not scared of or even care about things when it comes in a can. I know that often the things that should scare us the most are thought of as benign or healthy like veggies that are organic for instance. Its just my humble opinion.

Also at least from my perspective there is not a whole lot of prepacked food to begin with, enough canned things yes, but actual MRE’s no. The few things people like to use are the protein bars which at best are a good single meal replacement in an emergency. I would hate to think of your insides eating those a few times a day…

My favorite foods are those that were once moowing or rolling in mud. I buy them in plastic bags, plastic wrap, paper, or tin foil. In the mid-west you often only get frozen fish, I prefer fresh fish when I can find it. But frozen will work on the diet just as well. I open them all and cook and eat them.

I did paleo for a while, when I really started to look at what it was about, it was to make you feel good about eating stuff that was making you sick(er). I stuffed down fruits loaded with fructose, drank gallons of juices, and ate no dairy which made me mad. This WOE makes you feel good when you eat, this WOE makes sense in so many more ways, eating clean is not outrageous but often for many not practical either. The beauty is that you can get the cheapest cuts and they tend to be the best balanced for macro intake.
