Went to bed a tad bit later last night and wasn’t too long before the eyes were well closed. Up about 4 times for wee but you know when I say I have got up for a wee in the night it is never a gush but a very slow trickle! Drives me insane but there you go. When I do gush I always think ahhhhhh that was good lol hahaha
Up at 8am and stair runs done. Restful day, sat out in the lovely sunshine. Cold wind but I was fairly sheltered with a blanket on my lap, coat on and a hot brew to wrap my hands around. Relaxed listening to the birds. I am sure rthe Robin sings to let me know he’s there so I can pop a little extra meal worms out for him lol.
Brunch was a mixed grill, no idea where the appetite came from to eat it all but I got through it. 1 big beef burger, I pork loin chop, 1 and a bit lamb chop.
I got them all out to defrost last night apart from the pork as that was fresh and in fridge already. I had absolutely no idea what meat I had got out as I never label it lol… just lucky dip bags hahaha, I thought I was getting out bacon !
May have a repeat of brunch for dinner, we will see.
cool I will read it cause key being all research shows that if meat is fed to cattle that it triggers mad cow disease and more medical issues, so any meat protein added to cows has to be ‘very very small’ and controlled, but that is thru controlled feeding of course.
So there is a huge diff. in feeding livestock meat proteins which has proven ill fated if not controlled tightly thru their feed or if an animal needs calcium or has that opportunity to ingest when it can which is a rare find for most animals…but ground nesting birds sure would be at peril if a sheep needed some nutrient.
I think all animals have oddities or small requirements thru spending a winter on grass that is way less nutrient and more but you won’t find this as ‘a real natural order’ ya know, as in every day eating life year round for a ruminant.
OK off to learn a bit more on it all, you got me wondering how toxic meat truly is to certain rums and it is toxic on higher levels for sure but…that bit of meat a cow or sheep eats might be making them happy, have one egg or baby bird too many and down they go to death.

now my hubby loves loves loves a 1/2 cap of Nyquil ZZZ PM crap when he wants a good sleep. I tried that crap and I woke up with a headachy hangover and so foggy that my day was ruined. I can’t take Tylenol PM or anything like that, I feel it WAY too much in my system the next day but I think my hubby is addicted to it and does very well on it cause he pops out of bed like a trooper after taking it. For me I run from all that stuff. Just doesn’t suit me personally.
This month has really seen me lose the penchant for stilton cheese and most cheddars. No doubt the taste will return at some point. I am glad though as I do eat too much of it. Not added any salt this month and only had bacon perhaps a couple of times in order to get the salty taste when I felt I needed it.
I have been substituting my cold pints of water in the evening with hot water and that is also a ‘go to’ now quite a bit during the day.
Still a happy carnivore though and will continue on. Still plenty energy as far as plenty is since my blip and still no carb cravings.
Big fat nope! By the way Alvaro is with me, he can be totally very hungry since hours and not wanting any meat. I am the same, I just usually can handle meat. Not these days.
I am 1.5 hour after lunch so I am hungry and MUST go to eat.
Barely had 8 eggs and a bunch of cheese for lunch, it was okay enough but I can’t focus on anything this hungry…
And obviously many carnivores fast (well everyone fast between meals :D) as carnivores are people too. But I couldn’t care less about what carnivores do regarding fasting, I need fasting even more than extreme low-carb, it’s very very vital and good to me. With a big eating window my food problems get WAY bigger.
I eat whenever I want, not just when I get hungry but I still need fasting, they are easy together. I just tried a tad hard on last group fast as my hunger wasn’t serious, my appetite was negative and my needing fuel signs were tiny. But it turned out it still was too much for me. I will do the same next time just won’t continue fasting at 5pm if I won’t be satiated, that should do the trick. Or even better, I try to NOT think about food and I just mind my other business until I get hungry a bit and I eat then. I will try a bit hard only one day when it’s easiest. I need to train my fasting muscles, after all.
But I never had this problem, I think things piled up, that was the problem…

I think there are very few mammals eating exclusively meat or plants. Maybe none? Vegans and strict carnivores do it way more strict than animals…

Cats feel the need to eat grass too sometimes. While people may be able to buy almost anything and they often eat in a horrible way, I didn’t even understand some. I didn’t eat right but not nearly as bad as others. I actually crave salt and fat and protein and other things if they are low in my diet. I don’t have this with minerals, sadly so I can get magnesium deficiency, I don’t feel it until I get cramps.
Not like meat was needed for my high protein ever… I did high-protein high-fat vegetarianism back then. I don’t even understand how anyone can eat too low protein, don’t they feel their body wanting it like me? I suppose not.
(And I still think I would do high-protein veganism if I was able to eat like that at all. But nope, I would just starve at some point I imagine… Until my survival instincts would kick in and I would get used to the inevitable carbs. It would be still low-carb and very, very fatty. Maybe not that high protein but adequate. But why this idea attracts me now? Probably due to the zero meat. I am closest to veganism than in the last years. While being close to carnivore so the gap is still huge :D)
Wow, you are stricter than I could be. I need my processed items. Now on my vegetarian carnivore lunches cheese, later processed meat. A little spices up my food. I don’t crave them and it’s perfect without them for some days but then I just get bored of my eggs and meat…

I know the feeling. They just stop being food. It’s like when I went low-carb, grains stopped being food, it was great. But it got different on carnivore as I still had my carby chaos on low-carb and keto to some extent while carnivore was some calmer thing. (But then everything starts to stop being possible food even eggs and meat and I am lost… But it takes a loooooong time and too little variety to get that. I only hated eggs for a while when I actually did vegetarian carnivore days. 1 or 2? I barely could think of eggs for a week but had to continue eating them. I starve without eggs. Well no, I rather eat bread and cake than starve but very bad things happen without eggs. Wait, I can’t eat cake and hardly any bread if I don’t have eggs… Legumes and gluten then. I rather eat that than more carbs and I rather eat more carbs than starve. I have priorities. Sugar poisoning vs starvation is tough, I expect my body to get used to carbs eventually. It’s for apocalyptic situations, not if I can just buy low-carb food.)
I look at the photos here and nope, zero desire towards the meat at this point. I rather eat more scrambled eggs. I have a scrambled eggs phase It’s boring alone so I put things into/on it like cheese and sour cream but I can’t do that for long. It’s more fun with meat but not now.
I have labels on my boxes with meat inside but I often just remember them (it’s for the already roasted ones, they never last long in the freezer, too comfortable to get them out and eat).
Not sun but I had more than usual energy and walked and run a bit and my workout went well. I went to bed early, like 1am and was asleep half an hour later, maybe? Good. Early waking still couldn’t happen but I am a tad patient.
It’s a coffee-y day but I will be better in February…

Ate the lamb and pork chops and left the burger in the pan, couldn’t face that but might have it cold tomorrow with some scrambled eggs … @Shinita got me wanting scrambled after reading her post! I do love scrambled eggs so long as they are just cooked in butter … hate it with cream in it!
Odd but after some borderline hungry hours after lunch I got kind of satiated and after a tiny dinner, I am full and very content. It was a heavily egg based keto day (still only 10 eggs), I am fine with it. Couldn’t even touch the egg stew today.
Never tried them with cream in it… Only sour cream. WHY I didn’t fry them in butter…? I have little butter right now but I still can do it once or twice… Mmmm, butter. And eggs. Nice combo. I will do that tomorrow.
While those who do not eat organs may feel limited, I think my breakfast had 4 or 5 quite distinct flavours and textures. I love my variety, but I also support adding in non meat products if it makes you happy and does not cause you harm. Here is my diverse breakfast pic for today:

I really starting to think the gain was probably my body adapting to nebraska weather and snow after leaving Florida and being in the 80s…and going to 18 degrees
It’s been colder way colder in florida this week but nothing compared to nebraska…I’ve just noticed since I’ve been back i im no longer craving fats and I’m eating alot less food than I was up there…I’ve got like 10 pieces of picahana in the freezer but I’m more into eating lamb hocks and roast at the moment and not the fatty belly like I was in nebraska.
i really hope the weight loss continues and I can get back down easily… maybe it’s a sign of just trust the process and it works…
Anytime I’ve taken any actual sleep aid, including NyQuil or Tylenol pm, I get exactly 4 hours sleep and then I shoot awake like a canon. The only time I took an actual sleeping pill was 15.5 years ago when I was in the hospital giving birth to my daughter. They gave it to me at 11 and said I’d sleep until 9. 1 am I was wide awake and in labor
This sickness I have has turned into the mother of all sinus infections. I did wind up taking a NyQuil at 1 am last night and slept until 5. But yeah, I get the NyQuil hangover afterwards even with a half dose.
Today’s food doesn’t have many pictures and was not in line with my current eating plan. It was more dirty keto, but I made the decision to do so selectively at a funeral dinner. Before the funeral I had some leftover steak and lamb chops. Then the funeral was an all day event for a prominent Catholic family. It ended at a small local Italian restaurant and you couldn’t order, they just brought you what had been preplanned. It would have been very dishonorable for this very very Italian family to completely refuse any food and beef and lamb weren’t being put in front of me lol. So I had salami, pepperoni, cheese, and a little fruit from the appetizer. Picked at the salad, fried chicken (breast and leg) that they brought out next, and I had the meatball off the main course pasta plate. Tried to get my husband to eat some of the pasta off my plate but he didn’t, so my friend took it home with him . The waitress seemed offended I didn’t eat any and was more offended I didn’t eat cake . But I didn’t take any pictures at the restaurant. Tomorrow will be back to strict lion diet for the month of February!
Meat pics start to seem nice I realized today I pretty much regenerated and could eat meat again.
But I have too much non-meat to eat (various dairy items, mostly… and I want more eggs. I should stop eating butter, I eat way too much this way…? or not, I had workout, I probably needed the calories. and at least the vast majority of the significantly over 100g protein I stopped tracking after my second meal and I had a third one. yep, I go back to skipping lunch, it’s not convenient to eat so many times, getting hungry again and again, hours in the kitchen etc. and I never would lose fat this way)… So I continue my vegetarian days for a while. Like 1-2 days. I am in love with eggs now and it’s good as we both ignored our poor egg stew today so I will focus on it tomorrow.
So it’s surprisingly easy to live almost on eggs and dairy for me right now. It’s loads better than it was with meat previously. Odd. Meat usually help and I will need that later but now I am a happy egg eater (except I wanted to eat more egg dishes today… I won’t be as heavy with the cheese and butter tomorrow, I need the room for eggs). I bought interesting cheeses and they are fun now. Alvaro’s usual darling, Gouda is super boring for me, I almost never touch that anymore.

It’s February 1 here. Measurements taken. I have lost 5cm / 2 inches from my belly circumference and 3cm* from my neck circumference measurements during the January Challenge. I like @Fangs Idea of having a Fit February - a clothes Fit February. Start with finding something tight. Test it today. Then test it again in 28 days time. It’s only 4 weeks.
So, I went and tried a shirt size smaller than I have been wearing to find something tight fit to start February. It fitted. … Now my self perception has had a readjustment, I have to try a further size smaller

Elk, venison, camel, ostrich, emu, crocodile, Buffalo are all on my list, and I just received two kangaroo steaks as well Do not forget turkey and goose and other fowl as well.
I bought some Emu steaks and I wasn’t thrilled with them, in that they were ok on taste etc…but the darn price didn’t warrant me being easy on the wallet and just go with chicken or duck
I can’t help we don’t even have animals in our crest since ages. Once we had lions (we probably didn’t have lions in the country, only in the crest), some mythological bird (2-headed eagle) and things I can’t recognize… Maybe weasel… Nope, not a proper edible animal like pork or sheep or even horse…
I never ate emu or ostrich despite it became a thing in Hungary… It didn’t last sooo long but it’s still possible to get some but it’s so difficult (all the farms are far away from here. like, at the other part of the country) that I never put in the effort.
