Cholesterol myth - awful article

(ianrobo) #1

Well according to this today the ‘experts’ are saying what we think about cholesterol is wrong

Note the expert is Britain’s top ‘nutritionist’ and the UK is so far behind even the US now

Of course a total hatchet job on Dr Malhotra

Butter is back. Saturated fat is good for you. Cholesterol is not the cause of heart disease. Claims along these lines keep finding their way into newspapers and mainstream websites – even though they contradict decades of medical advice.

That’s as far as I had to read. If she is basing her article on the past few decades of medical advice, it’s a waste of time. The AMA and ADA and a lot of universities that conduct these studies get a lot of money from big businesses and their studies and advice are often biased. Heart disease is the number 1 killer of Americans each year, so obviously the status quo and their decades long advice is not working.

Love the use of “deniers.” It’s a deliberate tactic to make an equivalence to Holocaust deniers, stifle discussion, and a plea to authority.

I like this quote:

“The Oxford researchers, including Collins, have published their funding. The unit has research funds from pharmaceutical companies, but the individuals do not take money from them.”

The researchers would not have JOBS if not for the Pharma funding… so of course they aren’t “biased”

Indeed and this has caused a bit of a splash in the UK online community

The Guardian is the Fox News of the left. They both have agendas that they don’t hide (which isn’t a bad thing, per se, but it is something to be aware of).

I bet we can find out the journo is a vegan

(Empress of the Unexpected) #10

My cortisol level goes up. But the good news is this only amounts to popular news porn, sad part is - some people don’t realize it for what it is. A few months ago I thought the vegetarian/vegan conspiracy theory was just that. I am beginning to come around to the idea. Vegetarianism is one thing - vegan, another (and I bet they cheat, bigtime). I almost cried when I went to my favorite Mexican restaurant and saw this:

Sorry, that is outright politics (or a desire for money, same thing).

Clearly, these writers are not thinking keto is dangerous compared to the SAD. I am slowly becoming a believer in the conspiracy theory mindset.

Gosh, better make an appt. with the doc to discuss the safety of salmon and broccoli for dinner!!
