Cheese, what’s in it?

(Mark) #21

Cheese has an opiate compound called casomorphin which makes it addictive and messes with dopamine, also tyramine which is a byproduct of the amino acid tyrosine, which some say causes headaches, some cheeses have more some have less

I’ve never found it addictive thankfully.

I’m going to cut it out completely for a while and will then maybe try different types to see how I get on, depending how I feel.

I have cut out cheese now
No more bloating or exhaustion
Butter I have no problems

feta, cream cheese, and occasional bleu cheeses—- I thought I could keep those in moderation. I still had minor symptoms
Did away w them
No symptoms now, feel better

I’ll prob still re introduce later still😃

@Tmdlkwd I wonder if we have the same intolerance of whatever it is? It’s the tiredness that hits me more than anything, then heartburn shortly afterwards. I think dairy needs to go… :frowning:

(Ethan) #25

does dairy in general have this?

(Troy) #26

@Shortstuff …could be so? I will keep you posted too. Once I reintroduce in about a week or so. Yes, I know what you mean. It’s more lethargic for me too. Then bloating etc…The last time, I actually had to actually lay down . That never happens to me!!
Like the beginning of flu symptoms ( although I have not been sick in awhile , thanks WOE😄)…

(Allie) #27

@Tmdlkwd how are you getting on with this?
I’ve removed hard cheese from my diet but have still been using cream, butter & cream cheese and am not having any of the issues I had when eating hard cheese.

I would agree with a lot of the cheeses being no difference from brand to brand, but Tillamook is a totally different story…Their cheese as so much more flavor to me. I even visited their factory when I was a kid…I wish I had been older so I could remember more…I just remember looking through a big window over the factory with huge vats of cheese everywhere!

(Troy) #29

@Shortstuff no issues
Thanks for asking
I removed all except butter
I’m Way better, no fatigue. Liking in so much, that I’m not really sure if I want to add back in anything now
I will soon. Mind over matter. Lol
Great to hear ur better too
I’m loving these own body trial and error :grinning:

@Tmdlkwd great news  Yes my fatigue has gone too, as well as the heartburn I had started having - I’m sleeping less but feeling more energised :grinning:

I was the same way when I visited the Cabot factory in Vermont a few years ago. :cheese:
