Cheese on Keto

Gross! I mean that in a nice way. LOL

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #22

I made sausage Monday for this week to go with my eggs. I saved my bacon drippings from breakfast and dinner Sunday to scramble my eggs in for this week. :money_mouth_face:

i LOVE cheese and sometimes eat 2 or 3 types in a day ! I used to think (I was told) that cheese causes constipation… which might be true, if you mix it with a bunch of carbage, but now that I’m doing Keto, cheese has been no problem

Oh BTW, my GF takes Parmesan cheese… either from a block, or shaves it herself, onto a medium hot non stick fry pan, and cooks it until it gets golden. Takes it out of the pan and lets it cool, and it makes awesome Parmesan crisps  … oh wait, she uses the oven, I use a fry pan

I did save a pinterest link I found on making cheese crisps, like you’re talking about. They had all these different seasoned flavors. I though that might be a good chip replacement.

Well kind of… except I only need a small handful of these cheese crisps, vs a whole giant bag of regular chips I would have eaten back in the day

I don’t find them to be great for that, although I gained 90+ pounds never eating chips (or fast food or soda or…), so I don’t really care about chips. They are good to add to your salad, should you be one of those that still eats green things. :slightly_smiling_face:

(Donna) #28

Adding them to a salad sounds good. Good crunchy addition, I’m thinking

I agree with you. I used to eat chips like crazy too. I’m sure these crisps would be satifying with a small amount, since they will be pretty strong, depending on the the cheese flavor. I tend to eat more of the extra sharp cheddar, so I may try that cheese first.

Bacon nectar is an awesome substitute for butter on popcorn (you still use LOTS of salt of course!!!)

…and before anyone jumps on me about the carbs in popcorn…everything in moderation peeps (yes, grains are inflammatory - everyone - well - everyone here - knows that)

What is this moderation thing I here you guys talk about ? Never had it. Where can I find some of that stuff ?

I’m not sure how much cheese is the right amount, I personally eat heaps. Although my body weight is now stable at 111 kgs, I have actually lost 30kgs ( 66lbs ) I’m 6’2" and have eaten it since the start of my weight loss , oh yes, I’m also a body builder, and my waist is still reducing , down to 34" pants from 47"…

Now that I can do! I love cheese but have been afraid of eating too much. Gonna make us some white chicken chili without the beans. That has butter, cream and cheese in it - delicious.
