Cheating keto but somehow looking thinner

Iv been eating like crap on the weekends these last few weeks - I REALLY need to get back on track- no weight loss (obviously since I’m cheating ) but no weight gain either. I have noticed I look thinner though and may have lost inches . I’m wondering how that could really be possible , I mean I do keto mon- fri but sat and sun Iv been way over on carbs. So honestly I don’t think Iv been in ketosis or at least in ketosis for very long these last few weeks . - I have already lost 30 pounds from doing strict keto so I think now I kinda make excuses like oh I lost a lot of weight it’s ok to cheat , I want to get out of that mind set because I would like to get down at least 15 more pounds but I am curious as to how I’m looking thinner without weightloss and cheating .

How much are you cheating by? If it’s like an extra 30 carbs, it’s possible the refeeds are doing good for you–I’ve heard quite a few people say they benefited from regular cheats. If it was like a serious carb bender like 4000 calories in a day, I think it will eventually catch up to you. I’ve had weight gain be delayed by a few days, even weeks, before.

I mean I’ll have a bagel for breakfast and like mac and cheese for lunch - thats me cheating. It’s mostly bread , like yesterday I had a breakfast sandwhich with bacon , egg, cheese and avacodo and I was going to take off the bread but I had a bit and it was so good so I ate the whole thing lol but what was weird it I had that at 10 am and wasn’t hungry again till about 6.

Well it doesn’t sound like you’re eating an excessive amount. I’m sure you’re getting kicked out of ketosis, but ketosis is not necessary to lose weight. Eating a deficit in any form can make you lose weight, and it sounds like it may be happening to you.

I just don’t know if I should go back to keto or eat healthy carbs but have a caloric deficientcy and add excercise . I want to lose more weight but I kinda miss carbs so I don’t know which way will yield better weightloss results . Iv already lost a lot on keto but kinda at a platue which has started this whole cheating thing so now idk what to do

seems like a good problem to have, since you seem like you are losing weight on non-keto! If you’re not being compliant on keto anyway, you might as well embrace the higher carbs and be strict about counting calories rather than viewing it as a “cheat” (which would just make me binge). Try that for a while and see if you can get a few more pounds off. Then, when that stops working, go back to keto!

I think you basically have two options - either low carb/high fat or low fat/high carb. Combining both just gives you a standard american diet which if low enough in calories may well help you lose weight but can in the long run damage your health.
