Cheap Keto secrets

(David Jackson) #1

What are your cheap Keto favorites? Sure, bacon and eggs are good! But one cannot simply exist on eggs and bacon alone. What are your favorite “cheap eats” on the Keto menu?

Mine? Pork shoulder steaks. For $1.99 per pound, I can feed my family for two days with $7 or so.

Where I live, full-fat cream is obscenely cheap.

If you don’t mind drinking your calories, this is a good thing.

#3

Corned Beef.

(Ellenor Bjornsdottir) #4

I wouldn’t.

#5

Why’s that?

(Bunny) #6

Fattiest hamburger meat you can get means less of an insulin spike!

#7

Do you grind your own mince? I’m seriously considering buying a meat grinder so I can have medium rare burgers.

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #8

Translation, please? I really do wish people would stop using languages I’m not familiar with . . .:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Yes I do, love my vintage meat grinder!

I usually ground ofal parts into my hamburger meat also, when I have it!

We must not be giving away so many keto secrets? (people might get healthy?)

Chuck steaks, sometimes called chuck eye steaks…great cut for the grill

#13

Chicken wings are a great cheap meal as well.

(David Jackson) #14

I’ve had chuck steaks. And I’ve had chuck eye steaks. I guarantee you I won’t be mixing them up again. Chuck eye steaks are amazing. I’ll buy them anytime. Tried a couple chuck steaks. They’re better left to the slow cooker as whole chuck roasts. But, then chuck eyes… heck yeah. Any day

(David Jackson) #15

This is also a correct answer

I first read that as Olaf and I couldn’t figure out how you could get a snowman into your food.

#17

Ah yes, who can forget that beautiful song from Frozen…“Do you want to Grind a Snowman?”:rofl:

Not enough fat, not enough vitamin C (pork liver provides it though)

(David Jackson) #19

I’ve nwver heard anyone accuse corned beef of not having enough fat before. The brisket is is one of the fattiest pieces.

And I’m pretty sure all meat has plenty of vitamin c. Enough for keto diet anyhow.

(Ellenor Bjornsdottir) #20

I don’t think I was talking about corned beef when I said not enough fat. I think I was talking about attempting to live on bacon and eggs alone.
