CBD oil with statins

Needs its own acronym on this forum. DWAIOTO. Not catchy though.

The problem is the statins - assuming that’s what your husband is taking? It’s still unclear (to me).

You haven’t mentioned that your husband has had a primary CVD event. If not, all the reliable peer-reviewed data indicates that as a male without primary CVD there is no benefit and only downside to taking a statin. Its only potential benefit for males is as a mitigant against a secondary event. For women, there is no shown benefit either with or without a primary CVD event.

If the statins are the reason he cannot take another medication that would otherwise be helpful, ditch the statins.

As @PaulL notes, there’s a great deal of info and reliable studies cited on this forum about the folly of taking statins in most cases. They do more harm than good - lowering HDL which is essential to good health and immune system function.

I’ve looked into CBD oil a bit myself, and it’s tricky with meds that interact with grapefruit, like you mentioned. I actually tried some disposable thc vapes for sleep and anxiety a while back, and they really helped me relax and get better rest. I wasn’t in pain, but I was dealing with a lot of stress, and they were a good alternative to other stuff that wasn’t working for me. However, I did check with my doctor before trying them, and they advised caution with anything that could interfere with medications. It’s tough, because I know how much it can help with things like stress and sleep, but I’d say it’s important to double-check everything with a healthcare professional, especially for someone on other meds.

My brother was dealing with stress and trouble sleeping after his diagnosis, and he tried using some CBD oil in small doses. We also had a few simple weed bong bowls around just to take the edge off sometimes. It didn’t replace his meds, but it helped him relax enough to get a few hours of sleep without feeling groggy.
