Carbs Question

OK, so I’ve been doing this for about 70 days and I’ve had wonderful success so far.

I’m almost 50, and I’ve gone from 282.5 with a BMI of 42.8, taking two BP meds, and an LDL of 147 to 239.4 BMI of 33.1, taking one BP med and an LDL of 103. My ultimate goal is 195 - 199.

I’ve hit a HUGE brick-wall-like plateau as of the last 3 weeks. I cannot lose another pound.

I’m trying to eat exactly what numerous Keto calculators say I should concerning Fat, Protein, and the Dreaded Carbs.

My question is: If the calculator says 25 grams of Carbs, that means “Carbs from Sugars” opposed to carbs from sugars, fiber, and starches? Y / N?

Thanks!

If you’re counting total carbs, then it’s ANY and ALL. If you’re counting net carbs (as most people do), then fiber is the only freebie. You count sugar and starch. As a general rule, you also count sugar alcohols as half their total until you can establish which ones affect you.

Since nutrition labels don’t include starch (at least in the US), you take total carbs and subtract the fiber.
