Carb tracker/app?

(Summer) #1

Does anyone know of a good “free” online app for tracking net carbs?

Lots of apps out there. As an FYI you can click on the magnifying glass to do a search. Doing that would have pulled up many threads about macro/carb trackers.

People here use a variety:
My Fitness Pal (MFP)
Carb Manager (free and paid versions)
Cronometer (free and paid versions).

You’ll have to check things out and see what works best for you.

The free acct with cronometer has more ability than most of the paid ones.

Carb Manager free version works great. I got it years ago when there weren’t many, if any, other options. I think it does a good job and has plenty of functionality and the developers keep it updated and improved regularly. Never tried Cronometer. Once I got into the one, I didn’t want to lose my history by trying any others. My suggestion is to try a couple out for a little while before deciding which to go forward with.

I’ll add my vote for

I thought I tried that one but it looked to me like that specific app was for calories and low fat

Nope, under you goals you just select ketogenic and it’ll reconfigure, plus you can tweak basically ANY setting to customize it to what you want. Very helpful when it comes to thinks like sodium since (our) RDA is like 3x everybody elses.

Cronometer is great, enter recipes you use often or a big batch of stuff with portion sizes, save custom food lists, barcode scan for stuff you buy, meal template capabilities with my recipes section. Trends, charts and nutritional analysis. Ability to track progress over time. I wish I had started using it earlier than I did. :cowboy_hat_face:

I use Chronometer and love it.
