- A little digging reveals Duane Mellor skeptical to low-carb and resistant to reasonable attempts to reconsider his PoV.

- Dr. Trudi Deakin is of “Keto Ladies” (I’m not too motivated to check the show out)
- Anthony Warner appears to be some vulgar juvenile set on improving his ratings.
The premise sounds interesting to me, and the Beeb might do a good job of fielding the back-and-forth.

To short… little debate… Anthony Warner pointless (as well as being a dick)… Trudi Deakin didn’t say much… Lots of bald statements made without any supporting science far too much emphasis on “fibre” and Its importance…
One lady in the audience was an advocate of low carb otherwise not much support. Didn’t move the debate on one iota.
Apart from that it was great! Two more next week I think may be more interesting but…

So I listened to it this morning and echo all that. Also the continued peddling of whole grains almost if they are not ultra processed carbs … that was the one agreement that those are bad …

Best one was the dietician who said make things better in ready meals by replacing white rice and pasta with brown !

Thing is no one ever challenges it … the whole grain thing does my head in … if needed I can eat raw meat, raw vegetables to survive … I can not eat raw wheat tobsurvive !

I know…crazy… there wasn’t really a low carb advocate on the panel so not surprising I guess… such a missed opportunity… hey ho… 'twas ever thus in Radio 4 land…

Well there was one but it was not a debate but Q&a so the chef seemed to get more airtime than most … I mean they never asked Aseem on who was in a previous prog and generated a lot of feedback and PHE chickened out

I think they had asked Aseem but he couldn’t be there… mentioned at the very start. With the greatest respect to Trudi I don’t think she has enough fire to be a LC evangelist which is probaby what was needed. Nick Mailer @bokkiedog would have been amazing and could have knocked the “Angrytwat” into a cocked hat…
