After over 10 years of being religious-like about my low carb way of eating, I need help. I’m 6’4" and 300 pounds now. My lowest is 260 after being very successful on low carb 10 years ago. I have been a powerlifter for over 15 years and have crept back up to 300 over the past 3 years. I didn’t mind the added weight on the scale as my clothes still fit fairly well.
However, I’m 45 now and can’t recover as quickly anymore. In short, I’m back to 2535 calories per day with 30gC/190gP/183gF. When lifting heavy, I was consuming 3300 per day. I’ve been doing this since February and rarely approach 25 carbs per day. I can’t seem to lose any weight. I can’t get into ketosis. I have ketone meter and check my blood at random times during the week.
I do not eat any vegetables. Ground beef, chicken, turkey, sausage, bacon, butter, boar’s head white american deli cheese and eggs are what I eat. I do not drink sodas. The only carbs I get are from the few teaspoons of ketchup or mustard I add.
As I mentioned, I am religious about this. I am back to weighing everything in an attempt to figure out what I am doing wrong. I know this is a lot to absorb, but any input you can provide to kickstart my weight loss will be greatly appreciated.
Am I eating too much or too little? I’m missing something and need help.
