Canada here I come

I have had a wonderful day - I have booked a trip to Canada for my eldest daughter’s 30th birthday in July. I would not have dreamed of doing this six months ago as my health was so poor that I wouldn’t have flown.

Now I have a fitness goal. My daughter lives in Calgary so plenty of beautiful walks within a short driving distance, so I aim to be walking a minimum of ten kilometres easily by the time I arrive. I am certainly loving the Keto way of life. 42kg down as of today with only a couple more to go!!

Calgary is beautiful in July. Hopefully you will be there for the Calgary Stampede, that takes place in July. Lots of great places to walk and explore. Fish creek park is huge, and a great park for a nature walk and close to the city.

I am there for the Stampede but to be honest it’s not that appealing to me. I’m looking forward to hiking up near Banff and using this as a reason to get serious about exercise.

Definitely go to the mountains, they are less than an hour away. Lake Louise is a must visit spot and if you are feeling adventurous there is a tour you can take where you go up on to a glacier!

Thanks John. My daughter will meet me in Vancouver and we are going to drive across to Calgary and possibly stop at a green lake on the way. I’m so excited! I have always wanted to visit Canada even before Laura emigrated there. And only twenty hours from Australia!!

Love Banff!

Canada is beautiful! You’ll love it. Yeah, the flight can be exhausting, but it’s worth it…and you have the added bonus of being able to spend quality time with your daughter while taking a road trip through some of the most spectacular scenery.
