Can’t walk up my stairs lol

Hi there! I’m so glad I found this forum such a great wealth of information and experience.

I started a strictly Keto Diet about 10 days ago but prior to that I was doing intermittent fasting and lower carb. My urine test strips show that I’ve been in ketosis (from .8-3.0) for over a week, I had a day of “Keto Flu” but have been taking electrolytes and increased my salts. So far I’ve dropped 12 lbs and have been rocking on but OMG… today I can’t hold my arms up or walk up my stairs. My muscles are soooo weak it’s comical and I’m sleepy.

Any practical advice on this issue would be appreciated

This happened to me in the beginning too! It lasted a couple of weeks and then passed. My legs (and arms) felt equal parts lead/jelly! Only suggestion is to make sure you are having enough salt and are well hydrated. I don’t remember doing anything specific to ‘fix’ the feeling, just one day realised I wasn’t struggling anymore!

Are you eating enough?

Juice, I eat quite a lot. I eat based on hunger but track what I eat so it’s usually between 2000-2200 calories per day and I’m 5’7” so that’s a pretty decent amount. I figure once I become fat adapted I will be able to roll those calories back.

I had the same thing happen, just keep your electrolytes up, my body adjusted within a week or so and I was back to normal, some take a few weeks. Your body is just adjusting to the different fuel source. As long as you can still do tasks day to day and have no dramatic issues I would just push through it!
