Can hubby bring Jigsaw Electrolytes into Australia?

(Pamela) #1

My hubby is traveling to Australia for work for a week and a half. Does anyone know if he can bring in Jigsaw electrolyte packets to use in his water? He would bring in 2/day so about 24.

I know there are food restrictions, but I wasn’t sure if that was on all food products or just fresh foods.

Oh, and he was going to bring in enough Brazil Nuts to take 2 every day as well… issue?

Thanks for any help!

I’ve only been a few times but there are obviously guidelines available…

Pre-packaged things like the electrolyte powders should be fine. Fruit is an obsession of Border Security to keep out - foreign bugs could and have ravaged domestic varieties with no natural defenses. Nuts may be in that category but might depend on being packaged or not.

Australia is the home of macadamias so you probably shouldn’t worry about getting nuts there if needed.

The nuts MAY be an issue but not if they are packaged correctly.
We do sell Brazil nuts in all of our supermarkets if they are confiscated though lol.
Tell your Hubby Welcome to Australia, we are awesome, just ask us

Thanks for the responses! It was much appreciated. We decided to leave the Nuts home bc they were not commercially packaged. I usually buy my Brazil nuts in bulk, but they have been getting hard to find anywhere lately! He just brought the electrolytes.
