Usually I brink about a liter of water a day because I’m just sitting at work and it’s easy but this past weekend I had 4 days off because of the holiday , I find it hard to drink water already on the weekends because I’m just busy and I tend to not really eat or drink but this 4 day weekend I was bad. I hardly had water and I could tell I was being bad because my pee was yellow not clearish but on Friday I weighed myself and I was 171 but today Tuesday I am now 173 (again , I was 173 last week and was excited to see 171 thinking I lost 2 pounds ) I am wondering though if it could be because the last four days I have been neglecting my water intake and so my body is holding on to water right now . Can dehydration cause water weight gain?

For me, absolutely. My weight can go up or down 2 pounds just based on water weight, and it’s hard to figure out the pattern, because sometimes dehydration causes me to then retain water after I start hydrating again. Swollen feet or legs are definitely a sign of this, for me.
