So, I’ve been doing really well, and my ketones had gotten up to 0.7 on blood testing which is good for me. The last two days I’ve had some Sparkling Ice drink with sucralose, and my numbers now are abysmal. How and why does this happen and are there any other ingredients I need to be aware of that may throw me off the ketosis wagon?
Can artificial sweeteners throw me out of ketosis?
It can depending on the type of sweetener
here is a great post which may help understand better.

I find stevia ok, however my son does not.
Certainly can… As someone who has been monitoring their BGL for years now, I know it has a huge impact on my insulin levels, and subsequently my BGL and ketone levels. Which and how depends on the sweetener. I tend to hands down avoid all artificial sweeteners as a rule, and won’t sweeten with fructose as I know my body doesn’t use it like it would glucose so it’s futile.
I have listened to the Artifical Sweeteners podcast from 2KD and it both confirmed what I knew already about some Artifical sweeteners, and gave me insight into ones I’d never used or known about before, so as a newbie to another newbie, I’d recommend having a listen to that episode
I was afraid of this. I’ve just started keto baking and was really happy to be able to have cookies and drinks again, but I don’t think the sweeteners are working out for me.
