Is a calcium score 152 considered high in a 60 yr old…

I just had one done. You can find various charts online. Yes, 152 means you have heart disease. I don’t think this is one of those test where people will tell you not to worry about it. Maybe someone here can tell you what they have done about a higher score. I was 80lbs overweight when I started keto and with high cholesterol. My score was zero. It doesn’t mean I’m in the clear. Soft plaque will not show up on this test. Calcified plaque does though.

According to this site:

101-400

A moderate amount of plaque is present. You have heart disease, and plaque may be blocking an artery. Your chance of having a heart attack is moderate to high. Your health professional may want more tests and may start treatment.

You can keep your risk of further damage minimal by continuing to eat a well-formulated ketogenic diet. My understanding is that such a diet can also heal your atherosclerotic plaque, especially if you keep your Vitamin D level up, but from what I understand, the calcium in your arteries is not going to disappear quickly, even on a ketogenic diet. Check out Dr. Malcolm McKendrick, the Scottish cardiologist, for more information. There are interviews with him on YouTube, and he also writes a blog about the real causes of heart disease and how best to treat it.
