Can all yeasts feed from keytones?

#1

Hi,

Im relatively new to keto and have been experimenting with it over the last couple years on and off. I have IBS and i suspect i have a fungal overgrowth (possibly candida) but this has not been diagnosed officially. The main symptom is a fungal infection on my food made worse with starchy carbs and sugar. I also crave sugar massively as soon as i start eating it.

I have heard some people say that candida can feed from keytones, but my question is can all yeast feed from keytones? because i suppose its possible i have a yeast infection that might not necessarily be candida?

you can experement

buy yeast and ketone supplements capsules

mix them together in water and see if the yeast thrive like it does when mixed with sugar.

i dont think its as simple as that as there are different types of fungus… candida being one of them

I’ve only ever heard good things about keto and candida.
I was sugar free for years before keto because of candida, but since keto I’m sure it’s completely gone. Keep in mind that if you’re new to keto then the candida may seem as if it’s getting worse due to the die off.
