I am having a drink or two over the weekends. Mostly clear tequila with club soda, but lately got a not so clear tequila. But I have been gaining weight and am wondering if that is causing it as I cant seem to point it down to anything else? Does consuming low amounts of alcohol contribute to weight gain?
Can alcohol make you gain weight?
It seems to affect me - even with zero carb (spirits) or low carb (wine) even in limited amounts. In two ways, stall so I don’t gain or lose if it is a one time event; or gain as it disinhibits and I tend eat more or eat when not hungry - even with keto foods. I have come to the conclusion - for me I need to eliminate if I want weight loss.
I drink moderate amounts of tequila a few times a week and I’m still losing weight. I suppose it effects everyone differently.
Is it clear tequila you are drinking. Just wondering if has to do with not so clear that I have recently bought?
Your body will burn the alcohol first so it could stall weight loss. Also I’ve noticed, as others have said, I plain eat more when drinking.
I usually get the gold one, I like it better. But I do get a bottle of the clear stuff every once in a while.
Interestingly, the weeks during which I lost the most weight were those after a weekend where I had couple to many on a Saturday night.
