Camping.on.Keto

I’ve been going pretty hardcore at this for 2-3 weeks now. I’ve saw a roughly 10 pound weight loss in that time. Here’s my dilemma though. Big camping trip planned next weekend. Food isn’t the problem. But sitting around the fire being the only one without a cold, frosty one isn’t much fun.

So my question is will one weekend of beer consumption ruin my progress and force a reboot? I know there are “low carb” options, but let’s be honest, they taste like a glass of water that someone spilled a beer in. Thoughts?

I’d say a flask of whiskey is in order.

Woof. I’d probably end up in the fire then

Try Zevia (stevia sweetened soda/pop/soft drink). Not alcohol but at least you’ll have a cold can in your hand.

I second the whisky.

I second the Zevia. It can be cold and fizzy and not mess with your diet at all. Comes in a variety of flavors.

I’m not sure what zevia is, but I’ve been drinking a lot of “sparkling ice”. But the whole poInt of the OP was to ask whether or not drinking a 2-3 carb beer for a couple days would eliminate everything I’ve lost. I could easily mix a sparkling lemonade with vodka and be carb free. But that’s not a good recipe for an entire weekend.

At 2-3 weeks a good chunk of what you lost is water weight and yes there’s a good chance beer will bloat you back up. Then, once you go back to keto you will probably lose it again. It might set you back a couple days or weeks of fat adaption.

So, sort of your choice of that seems worth it or not.
