Calm with Keto

#1

Recently I was introduced to a “Calm” meditation app on my iPhone. I am finding with the 7 day free trial a beneficial connection between Keto lifestyle eating and meditation. I just wanted to share incase others may find this a positive in their own journey toward health and peace of mind. The app I downloaded from the apple app store. It requires about 91.1MB, compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, language is english, has family sharing. Hope you can use if you so desire.

I use a meditation app as well. Game changers, those.

It’s well worth the annual subscription cost :+1:

You bet! I was sold on it within one day. I also went for annual

subscription. It has made a difference for me and what I would

have declared a side effect of Keto was not, it was my absence

of focus, mindfulness and just staying calm. Thanks for your

input. Wow, day 800…way to go, professed from a learned user!

It’s helped me massively. Most mornings I like to do the daily calm as soon as I wake up, before getting out of bed, and I aim to do an evening session too. If I miss the morning session for any reason, then I make sure to do the evening one right before bed. My nighttime’s consist of a hot bath followed a ten or fifteen min meditation, my daily journal, maybe some reading, then a calm sleep story to help me get to sleep. It’s my most used app I’m sure :grinning:

Thanks for the information. This is definitely something I want to practice

My night tme routine has changed using this app. I will turn off TV at 7 pm, take Murphy for a mile walk (he is my Cavalier King Charles), come home read for 20 minutes, take a cool shower…then animal time. Clean Kitty"s Box (Sadie a 11 year old Calico), then fill feed bowls for both, and while they eat do an evening meditation. Read about 15 more minutes then about 9:30 head for bed (treats for the kids M&S), do a sleep meditation, then bed time story. I have found I am less anxious during my day, turn off the politics of the world, enjoy the animal companions better. They seem more relaxed too. Murphy finds a place in my lap for the mid day meditation. Usually up by 6 a.m. (Thank You Sadie!), out for a morning walk with Murf. feed the kids and have quiet meditation for myself. I have the joy of being retired so my days are easy and the pace much more quieting than in my professional days. Thanks for sharing. You motivate me to stick with it. By the way, is that a furry companion I see in your picture?

Hope it works well for you Elliot. Take care.

Yes that’s my Rottweiler, Chunk, who just turned eight. I have eleven rescued cats too - they’re the reason I tend to meditate first thing before getting out of bed, as once I’m out of bed they all want breakfast and it gets noisy and busy. I can meditate in peace if I pretend to still be asleep :joy:

Thanks for sharing this. I have anxiety and meditation helps a lot. I have been using the Smiling Mind app, but it feels quite samey. I will give this a go.

Best of luck to ya, hope it works and you find balance
and peace of mind.

Got ya, works sometimes but not always. The Keto diet has helped me find balance with food, cravings way down and not all that hungry. Find I have more energy for exercise even if it
is old lady stuff on a stationary bike. Feel better about self and how I look and about the
world around me. You young folk are motivating!!
